Westdale are making great progress at the Shaftesbury area of Newport. We have been appointed by Newport City Homes to deliver a comprehensive package of external refurbishment works, including Asbestos removal, roofing and velux window installation, balcony works, External Wall Insulation, soffits, fascias & gutters, porch roofs, etc.
The first two blocks are now complete; we are on-site at the remaining seven blocks, and these photographs demonstrate how transformative the work has been:
It’s hard to see from these photos, but what strikes me is the attention to detail and the quality of workmanship. These non-traditionally- constructed properties were of insulated cavity construction to first floor, with a thermally-inefficient timber frame to the first floor. (These photos were taken before the ground floor brickwork was cleaned – the dense tree canopies had blackened the brickwork).
The works to the 2 1/2 storey serpentine block of flats has already commenced – the visualisation below gives a flavour of the finished result:
